Today millions of children are forced to become homeless orphans in China as a result of the Chinese Communist Party's persecution campaign against Falun Gong, a traditional Buddha school practice.
In 2015 a team of teens rode across the U.S. in an ongoing effort to raise the popular and political support needed to end the 17-year persecution of Falun Gong in China, and to rescue the homeless orphans this persecution creates daily.
The brave cyclists are part of Ride To Freedom, a global humanitarian organisation dedicated to rescuing children orphaned by the Chinese regime's persecution of the peaceful meditation practice, Falun Gong.
The Chinese regime, which at first promoted Falun Gong, banned it in 1999 after it became too popular for the Party's tastes; a government survey estimated that 70-100 million Chinese people had taken up the practice, which teaches the tenets of truthfulness, compassion and tolerance.
Since 1999, the Chinese Communist Party launched a brutal campaign to eradicate Falun Gong and tens of millions of Chinese citizens have been arrested; many have been tortured; tens of thousands have disappeared.
Some of our Chinese riders have experienced first-hand this terrible oppression, but have found safety in Western countries. They undertake these arduous journeys to let the world know of the situation in China to help those less fortunate.
The persecution of Falun Gong can be ended. The orphaned children can be rescued - but only with the awareness and support of concerned people everywhere.
